Meet Head of Bars Alexander Affeldt

Since November 2021, our Head of Bars Alexander Affeldt has been managing not only the renowned Curtain Club at The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin, but also The Lounge located in the heart of the hotel, the Cigar Club and the Secret Champagne Garden in the hidden high garden. Being a bartender has always united his passions, giving free rein to artistic creativity as a mixologist and creating a retreat for connoisseurs. In many years behind well-known bars such as the Marlene Bar, the Monkey Bar or the Duke Bar, Alexander brought out a personal touch, which is now unmistakably reflected in the high-quality cocktails. Today, he and his team serve exquisite and creative drinks to revive the spirit of bygone days. With signature drinks such as The Curtain Clover Club, TruffleTini or Kosmopolit but also champagne classics, the guests are taken on a culinary journey through time to the golden 20s.

  • One of the seven best bars in Berlin: The Curtain Club on Potsdamer Platz transports you into an elegant, nostalgic world. The cocktails, which have names like El Dorado, Trifle'tini or Cosmopolitan, are inspired by what was popularly mixed in the 1920s.

  • The name says it all. In my eyes, it's one of the most exclusive bars in Berlin, which is ultimately reflected in the prices. But you know that beforehand when you visit a Ritz bar. But the cocktails are really world class and the atmosphere is unparalleled. The live music rounds off the perfect overall picture. I'll be happy to visit again and again, even if I'm not a guest of the hotel.
